Bing for iPad V1.1.1

The Bing for iPad V1.1 release on July 5 contained a bug we have decided is worthy of a hotfix release. Certain search result nav links for the finance category do not properly load content into the web panel view. Although a user work around is available, we felt it necessary to update the app for those who make use our app for market research.

  1. Where are the details?? Very small post!

  2. Yes, that’s true. It’s a very small post for a very small change. Users that search for stock symbols as a way of navigating into Bing Finance would find this bug. There were no other changes or new features added in this update.

  3. Will bling ever support saving bitmap files ?

    • Hello,
In the Image Search experience in Bing for iPad there is a share icon on the top tool row; it appears after the image is fully loaded. The share menu allows the user to send and save the image

  4. I am experiencing frequent crashes when using the Bing browser going to sports websites such as Bleacher Report, ESPN.com, and NCAA.com etc. I am usually going from one page of an article to another when it crashes, so it is very irritating. Are you arming on any updates to address this kind of issue.

    • Hi Charles,
Could be a lot of memeory pressure causing the problems, particularly if there is a lot of video on those sites. We do our best to trade off snappy navigation with good memory management. Please go to the settings panel and use the customer support link. Let them know what’s going on and hopefully then can help out.

  5. I like bing’s variety of info that is easy to access.

2 things that make for such a bad experience that I use google or safari instead.

Bing browser crashes while using a variety of sites-photography,surfing competition esp.

The back button is More convenient on the left side where fast navigation is going on . Your slide to the right method usually take several swipes to execute.

One other thing is I would prefer my own sideshow pictures
to those you provide. Your slide show on the browser is an excellent concept,, and execution of it is too.

    Chris

  6. Hello

  7. Bing for iPad App question?

How do you set the default location in Weather. App defaults to Seattle. As great as Seattle is — not everyone lives there or is interested in the weather there.

    Thanks,
    Jim

    • We use default location only when your location services is not on, or cannot detect gps signal. We have to display sth in such circumstance instead of showing blank msg.
You can set your own location in Setting –> Location. You can set manual location, or turn on location services and it will detect location for you.
      hope it helps.
